Join fellow dirt/gravel cycling enthusiasts on this epic gravel/dirt bicycle ride of your choice of 60, 80, 100, 150 or 200 miles on some of the most scenic dirt roads in the southeast. This scenic and rural route is over 75% unpaved, so a cyclocross bike or mountain bike is necessary. You’ll wind through grand southern plantations, oak canopies, farmland and pecan orchards on red clay and dirt. Pavement has been kept to an absolute minimum.
This is an UNSUPPORTED ride!
There is NO support, NO sag stops, NOR support vehicles. The course will NOT be marked, and there will be NO printouts prior to the ride. YOU are 100% responsible for YOU, YOUR equipment, YOUR navigation, and YOUR own food and drink. If you need a juice box and a hug every 20 miles, this is not the ride for you, please stay home.
This is NOT a road bike ride!
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE DIFFICULTY of riding 60, 80, 100 or 150 miles, the majority of which are on dirt roads. Do NOT make this ride the first time you’ve ridden on dirt or gravel roads. Riding dirt is much more taxing on the body than riding pavement. A cyclocross bike or mountain bike is necessary. You cannot ride this course on a road bike. As far a tire choice, when in doubt, go with a wider tire.
