From the Promoter:
This FREE self-supported and self-navigated drop bar backcountry adventure ride gives you a buffet serving of the numerous dirt/gravel roads that Eagle, Colorado and the surrounding backcountry have to offer. Bring your sense of adventure, as this ride is demanding on all levels. Riders can plan for a 5+ hour day on a 69-mile route that is 90% US Forest Service roads, 10% questionable rocky jeep road, numerous long steep climbs, water crossings, a hike-a-bike, a few white-knuckle descents, likely a run in with a cow or bear (bear sighted on course on 9/8), and numerous fast flowy descents that’ll make your cheeks hurt you’re smiling so hard! The views will be HUGE and the trees at their peak fall colors! Ideal and suggest bike is a CX or gravel bike with a minimum of 40c tires. A hardtail MTB will also work. There are pros and cons to each style of bike on this route!
