King Ridge Dirt SupremeFrom the Promoter:

Note: Keep your fingers crossed and we’ll have 4! section of dirt on this year’s King Ridge DS.

Option #1: You’ve never ridden King Ridge like this. We are starting in Duncan’s Mills this year so we will start with a slow burn up Bohemian Hwy to Occidental. Then climb up Coleman Valley and descend Willow Creek on dirt. We take Hwy 1 north to Fort Ross and climb up to SeaView Rd. After rolling along Seaview we descend back to Hwy 1 via Timeber Cove Rd. We will NOT be taking the dirt descent to Salt Point State park, next year. The route follows Hwy 1 north again until the dirt climb up Kruse Ranch Rd. Then…climb Hauser Bridge Rd,  King Ridge to Cazadero and finish on East Austin Creek Rd near River Rd/Hwy 116. From here it’s just 2 miles back to cold beer and lunch at Gold Coast Coffee in Duncan’s Mills. If you are looking for a supreme cross/dirt/gravel challenge this is it. Road, cross, Diverge….? Depends on what you have and what you can ride. Big tires and don’t flat! If you loved Old Caz this ride will blow your mind! Ideal bike set up? Either a road bike with 28-30c tires and low gears or gravel bike with 30-35 slick or slight tread. Like always, our Hopper routes makes it tricky to pick the perfect combo. I’ll be on my Specialized Diverge with 30c Roubaix.

Option #2: Riders will head out River Rd to Hwy 1 and then follow the same course as the big loop. This option eliminates the climb to Occidental and the Willow Creek descent. Once on Hwy 1 you will follow the same route as riders doing Willow Creek option. You will take Hwy 1 to Fort Ross and then climb to Sea View Rd .
