Nebra’s August Adventure – South Deerfield, Massachusetts

August 6, 2017 @ 10:00 – 17:00
South Deerfield
Deerfield, MA

From the Promoter:

Join the New England Bicycle Racing Association for a mixed medium bicycle ride through beautiful Western Massachusetts. Riders have a choice of two routes, 45 miles or 75 miles departing South Deerfield and heading north over backroads, dirt roads and bike paths. On returning to Deerfield enjoy a post ride pizza party catered by Hillside Organic Pizza. Beverages will be generously provided by Harpoon Brewing.

Riders can choose to ride solo, in groups or you can join small organized groups led by prominent members of the New England Cycling community. All proceeds from the ride will benefit the New England Bicycle Racing Association to help fund administration and programming.

The August Adventure costs $70 per adult, $20 for riders under 19 years of age. Registration includes the full day’s activities, post ride meal and beverages and a NEBRA swag bag full of goodies. Sign up online using the official registration service of NEBRA at Sign up by July 1st and take $15 off an adult entry fee!

The ride will begin and end at Douglas Auctioneers, 241 Greenfield Road, S. Deerfield MA 01373. We are advertising a 10am start, but you may roll out anytime from 9:30 onward. This is a self guided ride- we will provide cue sheets and the route will be marked with arrows, but unless you are joining one of the small groups there will be no ride leaders.

This is a ride not a race- the roads are open to traffic so please obey the rules of the road and be courteous to other road users and local residents. We encourage you to stop often and enjoy the wonderful scenery, read the historic markers and take pictures!

All riders must wear an approved helmet. The ride will cover a variety of rolling terrain and surfaces. Tarmac, gravel, sand and dirt will all be on the route in varying measure. Cyclocross or gravel bikes will be the most appropriate and comfortable, though experienced riders looking for a challenge or bragging rights could use a road bike with 25-28mm tires.

We will have roving support staff and there will be two aid stations, but please plan to be self sufficient with food, water, a pump and a spare tube or two.

Your entry includes a post ride meal catered by Hillside Organic Pizza. We will have a variety of gourmet pizzas, including vegan and gluten free options. There will also be sandwich wraps, salad, snacks and dessert! If you have a food allergy please let us know before the event and we will do the best we can to accommodate you.
