From the Promoter:
Welcome to the 4th event of the EASTERN CANADA GRAVEL CUP p/b euro-sports, Ottawa’s endurance sports store. This 4th event of the series is the shortest competitive course of all courses in the Gravel Cup, however, It features the single longest and steepest finishing section of the entire series, the Kennelly Mountain climb. This 70 km +830m course will be hard fought from beginning to end, culminating in a final attack up the Col de Kennelly. The sport course features 38 km +441m of non-stop ups and downs, sure to test every rider’s leg strength and ability to push heavy pedals.
Starting at the Dacre & Area Community Centre, this route uses a spectacular network of single lane treed gravel roads just outside Renfrew. English road, Gorra Hill and Haas are first. with a challenging grinder up Gorra Hill and descent on Haas. Mixed with interludes of pavement, the next part of the event uses McNulty, Sammon, Mhusk, Toms and the more technical and rugged Ken Dick. A short 500m connects to Mount St. Patrick, then Hwy 132 takes you south to the finish up the hardest gravel grinder in the area, Kennelly Mountain. The climb will hurt but the view at the top is worth the effort.
