Leesburg, Virginia Gravel Road Ride

If you live in or around Washington, D.C., or are planning to visit, you owe it to yourself to ride some of the gravel roads west of D.C., around Leesburg, Virginia.

Today’s riding experience was sublime.  During my 68 mile route (108kms), I climbed close to 5,000 feet (over 1,350 metres), over a mix of mostly gravel roads, and almost no vehicular traffic.  To top it off, the weather was coolish, enough for me to wear a light base layer, arm and knee warmers.  Perfect temperatures for riding gravel.  I’ve ridden in this area several times, but today I traversed many new roads.

Rather than babble on too much, I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
