Unless you’ve lived a sheltered cycling life eschewing magazines, online media and riding with others, you’ll have heard of the French brand, Mavic. A former component manufacturer, their specialty these days lies in the production of pre-built wheelsets.
For 2019, Mavic has developed two pairs of wheel designed specifically to combat the rigors of gravel. Coming later in May of 2019, the Allroad Pro Carbon SL (700c) and SL + (650b) gravel wheelsets both feature 24 spokes front and rear, decently wide internal rim channels for tubeless specific tyres and more.
Mavic’s gravel wheel options aren’t the lightest going, but they could arguably be among the strongest.
