VIDEO: 2017 Rocks, Roads & Reggae Bike Packing Weekend – Gainesville, Florida

The weekend of December 2nd and 3rd, 2017 marked the inaugural Rocks, Roads and Reggae Bike Packing Weekend. Promoted by Atomik Adventures with route design by JOM of Gravel Cyclist, the two-day event kicked off a little north of Gainesville, Florida from the Critter Creek Farm.

Participants took the roads less traveled from the farm to Oleno State Park for festivities and overnight camping. Saturday and Sunday’s routes take in some of the roads local to the Gravel Cyclist crew and feature mixed surfaces with beautiful Live Oak tree cover and almost no vehicular traffic. Over seventy riders made the trip for this fun adventure, from places such as Alabama, North Carolina and other parts of Florida. Special thanks to event sponsors and Ian Hylands for his beautiful photography.

Thanks for watching!

  1. JOM looks like a fun time by all. Might be an event I can’t miss this next year if they have it again. Two things I saw on the video being a visual guy. The snickers dangling from the rear on the one guys bike. I didn’t know sand could be so deep that it can wipe you out on a bike. Thanks for the video. Ok three looked like a hoot ride on the bike along with the night life at the campsite.
