VIDEO: Central Coast of Australia – “Searching for Dr. Jurd” – The 2017 / 2018 Australian Gravel Adventure!

On December 26, 2017, aka Boxing Day (in Australia), JOM of the Gravel Cyclist crew tagged along with James of Graveleur (https://graveleur.cc) for an out-and-back ride taking in some of the beautiful gravel roads of the Central Coast region of Australia. The route began in Yarramalong, and headed north to Wollombi, where we enjoyed a spot of lunch and a couple of well-earned brews. Then, take the route in reverse back to Yarramalong.

The route was approximately 103 kms / 64 miles in length, with over 1,200 meters / 3,900+ feet of elevation. One of the best ways to spend the day after Xmas!

Thank you for watching!

When you turned around at Wollombi, you were right near Muswellbrook, which was immortalized in a fashion in a classic American rock and roll song from my favorite group. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0QhaBW73Sk

The countryside looks magnificent. Me want go!

    Hey Jom,

I know this is totally unrelated, but I’ve been accepted to Florida for my PhD. I was just curious what you thought of the riding around Gainesville?

… that’s AFTER a decent visit to Central Victoria and riding, in your own words, JOM…. Gravel Paradise…
