Fasten and the SWS System: A Revolution in the World of Wheels
Ultra-fast wheel changes, maximum efficiency, and total interchangeability: the SWS system redefines cycling standards.
“The world of cycling is constantly evolving, seeking solutions that enhance performance and simplify life for athletes and enthusiasts. Fasten, a cutting-edge company in the sector, introduces SWS (Switch Wheel System), an innovation set to radically change the concept of bicycle wheels.”

“With SWS, Fasten has developed a system that enables ultra-fast wheel changes while ensuring perfect interchangeability between the front and rear wheel. At the heart of this technology is an innovative structure where the brake disc and cassette remain anchored to the frame, while the wheel hub can be removed effortlessly—without ever touching the chain or drivetrain.”
A New Standard for Cycling
Fasten’s CEO, Stefano Costamagna, shares the company’s vision:
“Fasten was founded with the goal of revolutionizing the cycling industry. With the SWS system, changing a wheel becomes a simple and instant operation, improving efficiency and reducing downtime. We aim to establish this technology as a new industry standard, offering cyclists an unprecedented solution in terms of convenience and performance.”

How Does the SWS System Work?
The SWS system is composed of three key elements:
- Disc support, mounted on one side of the frame
- Cassette holder, fixed on the other side
- Single wheel hub, which inserts and locks via a 14mm central axle

This system ensures maximum stiffness, precision, and ease of use. Additionally, the dovetail shape of the hub, brake disc support, and cassette holder is not just an aesthetic choice but a technical solution that optimizes component integration and reinforces brand identity.
The Advantages of the SWS System
Thanks to its innovative architecture, the SWS system offers numerous benefits:
✅ Ultra-fast wheel changes without realigning the disc or chain
✅ Perfectly aligned brake disc, eliminating misalignment issues
✅ Total interchangeability between front and rear wheels
✅ Universal compatibility with Shimano, SRAM, and any disc diameter
✅ More affordable and durable spare wheels, as they don’t include a disc or cassette
✅ Easier bike transport, with no risk of brake pistons closing accidentally

Compatibility
The SWS system requires specifically designed frames, with integrated bearings in the rear stays and fork, to ensure peak performance. Fasten aims to establish this technology as a new standard and collaborate with bicycle manufacturers for large-scale implementation.

When Will It Be Available?
The wait for SWS is almost over. Fasten is in the final stages of development, and the first units will soon be available for selected athletes and teams.
Fasten’s CEO, Stefano Costamagna, concludes:
“Last Sunday, one of our testers had the chance to try the system during the Granfondo Strade Bianche, tackling tough gravel sections and steep climbs. The feedback was extremely positive: the bike demonstrated great stability and responsiveness, even in the most technical sections. This type of course is an excellent testing ground to evaluate the system’s performance under challenging conditions and passing it with such strong impressions confirms the reliability of the SWS system.”
