“Niner Bikes is pleased to announce the Bosch powered RLT e9 RDO gravel bike. It’s the third model in Niner’s e9 Series of Bosch-powered ebikes, and it compliments the RIP e9 and WFO e9 mountain bikes introduced in July.” – Niner Bikes
“We’re calling it our first e-gravel bike, but it’s more like a pedal-powered SUV. Or an overland expedition vehicle. Or an urban ninja transit device. Our design details make this new bike equally at home across a range of environments, rolling over a broad swath of surfaces. Bosch powered, cargo capable, front suspension-ready, and flat-bar friendly, there’s almost no transportation task this chameleon can’t handle.”
“The new RLT e9 RDO is powered by a best-in-class, 4th generation Bosch Performance Line Speed drive system. These motors set the benchmark for fastest torque processing speed, durability, reliability, and a global service network. Paired with a 500 Wh battery, they’re ready to offer up 85Nm of torque and roll on average 30mi (50km) between charges.”

A Shapeshifting, Multi-Purpose E-Gravel Bike for any Adventure
“Using FEA modeling and extensive testing, lead engineer George Parry built a robust carbon backbone structure to withstand the roughest roads imaginable. In fact, the RLT e9 RDO passes ISO mountain bike test standards. Bonded to a 1-piece alloy motor mount, this machine is ready to go the distance for years to come.”
“Subtle design features add incredible versatility. Post-mount disc brake fitment makes it easy to change to a flat handlebar with mountain bike brakes. Likewise, our intentional inclusion of Boost hub and crankset spacing allows the rider interchangeability with mountain bike drivetrain parts. And the all-new RLT e9 RDO carbon fork is the same length as a FOX AX suspension fork. There’s even routing for a dropper seatpost.”
“For a dose of rugged utility, Niner’s custom, integrated racks are available to carry supplies for a trip to the office or a ride around the world. Clearance for comfortable 50c tires and fitment for fenders round out this chameleon-like gravel bike.”
Bosch Performance Line CX
“The 4th generation of Bosch’s class-leading Performance Line CX drive systems is 26% lighter and 40% more compact than the prior version. The torque sensor is 20x faster than any other on the market, thanks to a faster processor, resulting in zero-lag power delivery.”
- 75Nm max torque returns a sporty ride feel.
- 340% maximum power assist.
- Class-leading torque management for smooth, predictable power delivery.
- Efficient motor makes full use of available energy.
- No drag and no overheating.
- Noise optimized gearbox is quiet and discreet.
Gravel Chameleon
“Subtle design features add incredible versatility. For example, post-mount disc brake fitment on the frame makes it easy to change to a flat handlebar with mountain bike brakes. If you’re looking for a more upright riding position, it’s readily within reach.”
“Likewise, our intentional inclusion of Boost hub and crankset spacing allows the rider interchangeability with mountain bike wheels and drivetrain parts. This expands the range of compatible repair parts and allows upfitting of even more rugged components.”
“If rougher roads and trails factor in your plans, the all-new RLT e9 RDO carbon fork is the same length as a typical short-travel suspension fork. Therefore, the geometry is corrected and ready for a fork swap to something with more squish factor. There’s even routing for a dropper seatpost if you really want to get down and dirty.”
“For a dose of rugged utility, Niner’s custom, integrated racks are available to carry supplies for a trip to the office or a ride around the world. Clearance for comfortable 50c tires and fitment for fenders round out this chameleon-like gravel bike.”
“Gravel roads around the globe beckon this bike, as do social trails through town, bike path greenways, and even urban sidestreets. If you can dream it, the RLT e9 RDO can do it.”
Bosch Purion Display
“Compact, clear, and easy to read, the Purion display offers information and power management at the touch of a button.”
- Clear display of charging status, speed, riding mode, range, and distance.
- Easily toggle between five power assist modes (Turbo, Tour, Eco, and Off).
- Backlit, no-glare display for easy viewing.
- “Walk” assist button for even support when off the bike and pushing.
- Easy diagnostics at the dealer via micro-USB port.
- Optional service interval display.
Rack It Up
“Custom Niner cargo racks are available to complement the RLT e9 RDO. Adding these stylish, form-fitting accessories adds a new level of utility to this dual-sport style bicycle. And with custom, strapless frame bags also available, there’s no reason not to make this bike your daily driver.”
“The racks are seamlessly integrated into the frame design. Custom, semi-hidden mounts offer a clean appearance and minimize bulk. The rack platforms float off of the fork and seat tube for a contemporary, stylish form.”
“Made from tubular aluminum, the Niner racks are sturdy yet lightweight. They’re designed with a slender profile yet can accommodate up to 40lbs (18 kg) of cargo per rack. And if that’s not enough, additional mounts on the frame allow fitment of traditional racks and larger pannier bags.”
“A purpose-built rear bag fills the gap between the frame and the tire. Large enough to stealthily conceal a spare inner tube, tools, and tire levers, it keeps your roadside repair supplies at hand but tucked out of the way. Made from durable, water-resistant canvas and with a sealed zipper, it’s able to keep your kit dry despite the weather.”
“Finally, the RLT e9 RDO is compatible with our line of proprietary direct-mount frame bags. These strapless, bolt-on front triangle and top tube bags are sized to suit our various frame materials and sizes. With subtle styling, functional features, and generous cargo capacity, they’ll extend your range whether you’re grinding gravel on the weekend or dodging traffic during your 9-5 commute.”

The marketing BS in Niner is always top of the class. Also you tagged this review and it is not. It is an advertising.
It is a press release. You don’t have to like it, some people appreciate the information. Thanks.
If e bikes extend the oppurtunity for those perhaps not able to ride as they once could, for example age or injury, im all for them. I hope its 20 more years before I would buy one but its probably closer to 10. UCI e bike racing, now I haven’t wrapped my head around that one. Hats off to Niner the e9 looks like a good option if not into the big corporate names like Trek or Specialized.
