Who is Ventum?
Ventum was founded in 2014 by a team of athlete-engineers and entrepreneurs and is based in Heber City, Utah. The company creates high-performance racing bicycles using technology from fighter jets and Formula 1, and it’s the Official Global Bike Partner of IRONMAN.
Building off its existing performance-inspired line of triathlon and road bikes, Ventum has announced its first-ever gravel bike, the GS1. Whether riding on forest trails or gravel frontage roads, the versatile GS1 is designed to go fast where the pavement ends. The bike will officially go on sale on November 15 with pre-sale starting September 15, 2020.
“One of the biggest challenges of the gravel segment is designing a bike that handles well across a variety of road and gravel surfaces,” says Ventum’s Barrett Brandon. “The GS1 was designed to inspire confidence and be fast on gravel, but also be capable on both the road and singletrack.”
Starting at a competitive $2899, the GS1 is suited for any rider interested in going off-road without sacrificing speed or dynamic handling. The aero frame mimics the sleek styling of the NS1 road bike, with integrated cabling and an EPS Mold for refined production and lighter weight. The flip-chip offers customization by changing the effective rake for different ride characteristics, and the double-drop stays allow for stiffness and clearance.
“We feel the GS1 has everything you’d want in a gravel bike: performance, handling, fit, price point, and the aesthetics to bring a complete package to market that is currently not available from our competitors,” Brandon says.
The GS1 comes in three models, with the flexibility to choose your frame color (pink, blue, or green), components, crank length, stem length, and bar width with the unique Custom Fit Builder.
The Base features 1x SRAM Force mechanical components; the mid-level uses 2x Shimano GRX Di2, and the top-of-the-line model offers the 1x SRAM Red AXS eTap MX build.

Ventum offers a couple of ways to make purchasing easier. At checkout, customers can opt to pay over time and buy a new bike through a financing partner for a low monthly cost. Or, Ventum’s easy trade-in program allows customers to get credit for the value of their old bike to be used towards the purchase of a new one. Plus: The Ventum Assurance includes a 30-day money-back guarantee, lifetime frame warranty, and personal customer support.
I kinda wish companies would stop saying stuff like “design takin from fighter jet technology” . Volvo started that way, and we know how bland those things are…
and don’t get me started on the 4 front wheeled F1 car from years past….. sure it worked but holy Hanna that thing was ugly! LOL
I’m an F1 fan, that four-wheel Tyrrell was an abomination, I’m glad the FIA banned it! I say bring back the V10’s! 🙂
