September 3rd & 4th, Megeve, France
Grupetto Megeve and Wish One join forces to create the “Ultimate Race”: The Gravel Tour du Mont Blanc, 200km and more than 8,500 metres of positive elevation gain.
“Nicolas Roux, the record holder of the Tour du Mont Blanc on-road and founder of Grupetto, has designed a route that takes the best of on-road and off-road trails. The organization will build on the skills of Wish One, the French brand of reference in Gravel, organizer of two events in France in 2021.”
“The route will alternate rustic and gravel roads including singletracks, undergrowth, forest paths, and bike portage in a wide-ranging environment. It will be addressed to seasoned riders ready to brave the many difficulties of the course (8 passes on the program with 2 climbs over 2.500m: the Col de la Seigne and the Grand Col Ferret).”
“A solid physical condition will be essential as well as an excellent technical background since the riders will evolve on mountain paths most of the time.”
“A formula in the relay of 2 people (each relay providing half of the tour) and the Half (100km approximately) at the start of Courmayeur will also be proposed. Moreover, during this weekend dedicated to gravel, a 70km non-competitive ride from Megève (the Gravel Tour du Mont Joly) will take place on Sunday morning.”
Registration opens on January 1st, 2022 – www.graveltourdumontblanc.com
“The course has been designed by Nicolas Roux and realized in partnership with the Komoot application. The departure will be at 5am on Saturday. The arrival of the first participants is estimated at around 9pm and the time barrier to finish the race is set for Sunday 12am.”
A Mythical Place, The Mont Blanc
“Both on the road and off-roads the Tour du Mont Blanc is a mythical route, as proof of the success of events such as the Tour du Mont Blanc Cyclo and the UTMB.”
“The GTMB will gather the best of the two routes since the Gravel bike allows you to ride on the road as well as in the paths.”
“The roof of Europe, between glaciers, torrents, valleys, and alpine passes, offers a single chance to evolve on a unique, fragile, and above all demanding natural territory.”
“With no less than 8 mythic passes to cross, including 2 climbs to more than 2.500m with the Col de la Seigne and the Grand Col Ferret, the course will undoubtedly be one of the hardest in the world over a distance of 200km.”
“The course crosses three countries: France, Italy, and Switzerland, and will offer riders breathtaking landscapes. The start will be at night from Megève, the historic site of the MB Race MTB and the Megève Mont Blanc Cycling.”

I have always dreamt to ride bicycle in the mountains, but as I am struggling with vertigo, I can’t ride in the mountains. That scares me off.
Just an observation: the link to the event web page is incorrect after the last photo, it should read: Registration opens on January 1st, 2022 – https://graveltourdumontblanc.com/
Thanks! Fixed.
