Montana Tour of Red Lodge will host Big Sky Gravel in August.
“Gravel cyclists and support crew will take to the Red Lodge area for 22, 42 and 95 mile races, Saturday, August 26, along the foothills of the Beartooth Mountains. The Red Lodge and surrounding area is known for its immense landscapes connected by gravel roads in Carbon County. The 22 and 42 mile can be ridden as a tour/e-bike category. The 95 mile is race only.”
“The 95 mile riders will cross into Stillwater County reaching Fishtail, MT and putting in over 6,100 ft of elevation gain. The 42 and 22 mile are not to be discounted, the 42 miler will have almost 3K ft in gain with the 22 miler at 1,200 ft. Views of the Bearooth, Absaroka and Pryor Mountain Ranges can be seen all around. Races begin at 7 am.”
“Participants will begin checking in Friday, August 25. Cyclists and their families are encouraged to stay and play in Red Lodge to take in Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary, local accommodations and restaurants. The start/finish is close to trails, Rock Creek and camping will be permitted for the participants. Maxwell and The Head Change will provide music before and after awards; music and finish line festivities will be open to the public.”

This is a fully supported event bringing infrastructure to support the cyclists including port-a-potties, finish line food catered by Montasia, radio communication, bikes on road/safety signage, and SAG (Support and Gear) support. This ride is permitted by Carbon County Commissioners and City of Red Lodge.”
