The 5th Annual Gravel Revival, one of the most unique grassroots gravel festival experiences in Tennessee, returns to Centerville, TN on October 18-20, 2024. This event will feature various cycling distances of 11, 30, 40, 60 and 100 miles and new this year, a 20K Trail Run (12 miles) on the beautiful backroads (mostly gravel/ chert and a little paved) of Hickman County.
Gravel Revival is a multi-day, grassroots gravel festival for all ages and levels of athletes. The event will be hosted and sponsored by MOAB Bike Shop at Peaceful Hills Resort & Campground in Centerville, TN. They are expecting around 500 participants this year. Cyclists from TN, IN, FL, AL, KY, VA, GA, CA, MS, CO, TX and more, along with sponsors, vendors, friends, family, children and even well-behaved dogs attended this event in 2023, bringing the total attendance to over 400, with more than 40 volunteers! Participants and attendees ranged from ages 3-80 years old. The event coordinators increased the number of female participants 30% from their first year.
This year, the event will kick of on Friday afternoon (October 18). Participants can set up their campsites beginning at 12:00pm. At 3:00pm they will be hosting a bonus Shakeout Ride with the Nashville Local Cycling team for all registered participants, vendors and volunteers to “shakeout their bike” before the main event on Saturday. Additionally, this year Wahoo Fitness will be hosting a short Milky Way Night ride at 7:00pm. All participants are invited to bring their bike lights (or headlamps) and join in the fun for a chance to win some prizes/swag. The evening will conclude with food & drinks and live music from local musicians, including a Hickman County native, Johnny Crow!

The main event on Saturday (10/19) will begin at 7:30am (100 milers), with the remaining distances starting at 9:00am. These routes have been developed for the beginner rider, all the way up to the elite racers. Additionally, this event has opened up to Trail Runners with a beautiful & scenic 12 mile course. We can’t forget the kids! There will be both a ½ mile and 1 mile Kids Fun Run and Bike Ride beginning at 1:00pm, with a special appearance of the Centerville Fire Department. This event will be timed by Race Day Events, followed by a Podium award ceremony. Following the ride, there will be multiple Food Trucks including Salsa Franklin Taco, MGC BBQ & Pizza, Daddy’s Dogs and HauteWheels Rolling Sandwich Co., delicious craft beer from Bearded Iris and N/A beverages from Athletic Brewing Co and Walker Brothers.
Several other local bike shops and outdoor retailers including Wahoo, Shimano, Specialized, Salsa, REI, Trek and many more will also be onsite to provide mechanical support, share industry knowledge, and provide giveaways for participants. “The Hub”, sponsored by Conamici, will host everything from a lounge area, games, prizes, competitions and everyone is invited to participate, or heckle, those that do! Additionally, Stretch Lab will be onsite providing complimentary post-ride/run stretches. The evening will wind down to LIVE music with local musicians Jake Leg Stompers, out of Murfreesboro, and an epic, we mean epic, bonfire at the campground.
On Sunday mid-morning (10/20), there will be a casual 25 mile recovery gravel ride to Grinder’s Switch Winery, with a pit stop at a waterfall! The Winery will be providing snacks and drinks, bonfire pits and free wine tasting for participants. In addition, HauteWheels Rolling Sandwich Co. food truck will be onsite for a tasty lunch option that pairs well with a glass of vino!<
The routes will be fully-supported with rest stops that include food, drink and restrooms. The Nashville Amateur Radio Club will provide SAG (support and gear) along the route, maintaining communication with the cyclists and the campground volunteers. The Hickman County EMA and Coble Fire Department will provide a FEMA trailer of restrooms and emergency support at the event. The event will be providing some pop-up showers for the participants!
While the event was created as a fun gravel ride for everyone, the organizers have also added a race portion as well for those that enjoy the extra challenge and competition. Cash prizes were provided to the top 3 finishers in the 100 and 60 mile race, prize packages were awarded to the 40 mile finishers. Youth finishers received a trophy filled with Hickman County’s dirt, chert, gravel & corn!
