Gravel Cyclist LLC offers a small section of high-quality mixed-surface rides that are well documented including video. Creating and documenting a route takes significant time and effort, along with hard costs (running this website is not free) with providing routes on a web platform. Thus, most of our work is copyright protected, we can provide details of those copyright protections afforded us.
Sharing
We are interested and open to sharing our work. In fact, many of our routes populate the North Florida Freeride Gravel Series, founded in 2010. However, our work (route descriptions, pictures, maps, etc.) should never be copied / shared and used by an individual, commercial or non-commercial entity, whether it be a for profit or non-profit organization, without prior written authorization from Gravel Cyclist LLC. We are open to licensing arrangements, co-marketing agreements, etc. Please contact us to discuss.
Sharing within apps like RideWithGPS, Strava, MapMyRide, etc.
If you share our routes within an application or to an application via GPX upload or similar we ask that you give credit back to Gravel Cyclist. If you would like to share more than the route, such as photos and route descriptions please contact us to discuss.
1. Copying a route as-is:
Specifically, if you copy a Gravel Cyclist route to your personal account, we ask that you keep the following within the summary statement of the route:
“Route design by GravelCyclist.com – A majority of the content within this route (course, elevation profile, customized cue sheet, and color mapping) was created by Gravel Cyclist. More routes like this can be found at GravelCyclist.com – Do not steal / copy the route, rather, download and give credit if you enjoyed the ride!”
2. Copying a route followed by modification:
At a certain point in modification, the route becomes an original by you. This is usually at the point of modification in excess of 50%. However, if the modification is minimal, we ask that you keep the following with the summary statement of the route:
“A majority of the content within this route (course, elevation profile, customized cue sheet, and color mapping) was created by GravelCyclist.com. More routes like this can be found at GravelCyclist.com – Do not steal / copy the route, rather, download and give credit if you enjoyed the ride!”
