On June 27, 2015, the Gravel Cyclist crew of K-Dogg and Dr. Pain, with JOM filming from various locations along the course (he’s still recovering from injury) revisited Hilly Billy Roubaix in Morgantown, West Virginia – and we’re from Florida.
Normally, this race is very tough. This year’s race was especially epic, due to the heavy rain that fell on race day. But imagine mud, sludge, gravel and a bit of pavement thrown in – and over 6,500 feet of climbing – and you get the picture.
Please enjoy the ride video in the beauty of High Definition, courtesy of YouTube.
Thanks for watching!
Dr. Pain and K-Dogg’s 2015 Hilly Billy Roubaix race report is HERE.
Loved this video of the race! Makes it look harder than I remember!
I’d like to know what tires each one of your squad chose for this mucky ride, and if they were happy with the choice.
Thanks,
Eric
K-Dogg rode Specialized Renegade 1.8’s, while Dr. Pain rode the same tire, but in a 1.95″. Both lads were happy with their choice.
For wheels, we ran American Classic 29’er Race wheels on our Monster CX rigs.
After learning that Blood Sweat and Gears altered their event due to weather conditions it’s great to learn that the Grave Scene, Hill Billy Roubaix, did not.
Thanks for showing “Girl Power” in action at a gravel event.
