JOM of Gravel Cyclist has been at this madness since 2006, way before the mainstream cycling media had ever heard of gravel cycling, gravel bikes, etc. Like many people watching this video, JOM of Gravel Cyclist has a full-time job. Between that, his partner, owning a home, car hobbies and everything else, JOM does a lot of juggling producing the content you see on the Gravel Cyclist YouTube Channel & social media.
JOM considers himself fortunate to have built relationships over the years with manufacturers, who send him the bikes you see on this channel / website to review. During that time, we’ve seen bike standards, come, go and stay, some good, and some bad. JOM’s style is authentic and no BS, something seldom in cycling media nowadays.
All of the Gravel Bike reviews you see here are UNPAID, unbiased, and No BS.
For the sort of bikes that JOM prefers to ride; a speedier bike he can throw around the place a bit, but adding to that, a bike that’s more adventurous, leaning towards traversing dodgy terrain. One thing JOM isn’t into is bike packing, he’s more of a credit card packing kind of cyclist.

The Top 5 Gravel Bikes of 2024
Time ADHX 45
“Riders that spend the majority of their time on unimproved roads will appreciate the volume and traction offered by a 45c tire. Gravel-oriented frames achieve the necessary tire clearance by thinning and lengthening the seatstays & chainstays and widening the crown of the fork. The resulting increase in frame deflection paired with the vibration absorption and traction of larger tires make light work of rough roads even as they render the ADHX 45 less suited to asphalt.” – Time Bicycles
Officina Battaglin Pave
“Explore new terrains with the Battaglin Pavé, a gravel bike that redefines versatility and performance. Inspired by our Power+ EVO model, the Pavé is meticulously crafted with a custom-drawn Columbus GB81 steel tubeset, tailored specifically to meet Officina Battaglin’s exact standards.” – Officina Battaglin
No. 22 Bicycles Drifter Adventure
“Starting with our award-winning Drifter, the Drifter Adventure is for riders seeking more. Additional tire clearance and compatibility for 1X drivetrains only allows the Drifter Adventure to run larger tires to take your adventures further off the beaten path.” – No. 22 Bicycles
Pivot Cycles Vault
“The new Vault isn’t just a bike; it’s an invitation to explore the world on your terms. With its lightweight build, inspiring handling & expanded sizing, the Vault stands out as a leader in the gravel market. Designed for riders who demand versatility & performance without compromising comfort, the Vault lets you find your freedom and get lost in the adventure.” – Pivot Cycles
