Welcome to my 2019 SBT GRVL Experience, from the perspective of a regular bloke who spends most of his year living in North Central Florida… close to sea level and less than optimal for the high-altitude gravel roads of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. D’oh!
Now that my excuse for sub-par athletic performance is out of the way, this video could be considered the 100-mile SBT GRVL Tour. Beautiful scenery, abundant aid stations to keep one fed and nourished, new friends, and overall, a great gravel cycling experience. I highly recommend it!
If 100 miles of gravel at altitude isn’t your bag, there is the green route at 37 miles and the ultimate challenge, the black route at 140 miles.

Was there. Rode the Black course. It was a good time and easier than I expected thanks to the 38 miles of pavement and some really nice (for recovery) long descents. Great race. Wonderful people. Awesome countryside. I plan to go back next year and do it again.
