The third annual Big Scrub Gravel Buzz occurred on February 24, 2018. This event benefits the “American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Ocala.” The ride ventures into the world’s largest contiguous sand pine scrub.
Riders experienced pavement chipseal, lime rock, grass, red dirt roads, and a bit of gravel here and there as they pass by the Ocklawaha River, wet prairies, swamps, and dense hammocks of palms, long-leaf pine and live oaks.
Thank you for watching!

Thanks JOM again for a great video. Your crash will add nicely to our collection of involuntary dismount videos.

Sand traps and water hazards — are you sure you are not the Golf Cyclist?
At least if you are going to crash a sand pit is probably the best place to land. 🙂 Glad you survived.
Haha indeed. The front wheel just dived in, then over I went… whee!
Hey JOM, looks like a fun ride. Thanks for not editing out the blooper!
Question about your cameras, how do you manage to get your gopros to last an entire ride like that?
Dennis, I use an external battery on the front GoPro which provides a ton of additional battery life. For the rear, I typically turn it on and off and hope for the best. Timing is everything!
Man, that packed doubletrack at 2:40 in the video looks like fun.
