In this video, JOM of the Gravel Cyclist crew details the food and hydration he used to complete his third 2018 Dirty Kanza 200 gravel race; on the bike and in his cooler (esky if you’re an Aussie) at the three checkpoints.
Remember the Dirty Kanza race rules – You can only accept aid from your support crew at the three designated checkpoints. Anything beyond that, for example, taking a feed from your support vehicle on-course will result in disqualification. Play fair, respect the race, play by the rules and don’t litter!

What?, no Savoury Shapes, Vegemite sandwiches, Vanilla slices, pie floaters or even Sunnyboys??
MMM! PIe Floaters and Vegemite! I think Vegemite on toast would be a great electrolite snack during a race.
Gu tabs are only 12 calories each.
Didn’t mean to be negative (but managed anyway) and should have said thanks for the video. I was not aware of the pickle juice company and just ordered a bunch of the Magnum bottles for longer rides. Really great info. Thanks again.

You’re welcome. The Magnum bottles aren’t cheap, but so worth it.
Not my primary source of calories, and I don’t get it right all of the time!
