Early Evening Mixed-Surface Ride – Gainesville, Florida, USA

During the summer months, I enjoy nothing more than a relaxing cruise ride on the quiet mixed-surfaced roads that surround my USA home town of Gainesville, Florida. To help wind down from the toils of the day, I like to head out almost immediately after the regular gig has finished and enjoy the cooler temperatures, marvelous scenery and sunset over the North Florida landscape.

Hopefully, you escape the daily grind in a similar manner with a ride of your own.

The 3T Exploro review bike.

In this video, I’m riding the 3T Exploro review bike fitted with SRAM’s RED eTap AXS 12-speed drivetrain, paired to ENVE Composites G23 wheels and Panaracer Gravelking SK tyres. For those who are wondering, my top tube bag is the stealthy Dark Speed Works Speedpack 483D (review coming later). Navigation by Garmin 830, the rear taillight is the Garmin Varia RTL510 (I never leave home without it) and headlight by Indigo.

A huge thank you to GoPro for supplying the Hero 7 Black cameras that captured all of the POV footage in this video.

I think that is the best time of day to be out on a ride, it can be so peaceful.

Cool, I’m seriously thinking of moving up to Gainesville. San Felasco is my fav FL mountain bike trail, and have been going up most every weekend for the last 4 months to ride and look at the residential areas. Initially, Initially, I was thinking off Millhopper Rd , but more-recently the Haile Plantation is my main interest. As for gravel rides, do you have fav loops which are mostly gravel and have a lot of shade ?
    Thanks !

Is there a repository for your gravel routes? Would love to ride some of them next time I visit Gainesville!
